Welcome to the

BUSY Project

BUSY would like to see young people thrive and have hope at the heart of a community that values them.

BUSY activities are for anyone from P7 to S6 who lives around the Uphall and Broxburn areas. They take place in schools, church halls and elsewhere! Have a look below at some of the things we offer.

What’s Been Happening at BUSY

Youth Work in Schools

We continue to work closely with local schools through a variety of lunchtime and curriculum-based activities. Our lunch break clubs, wellbeing groups, and leadership sessions give young people safe spaces to connect, build confidence, and feel supported throughout the school week. We also run an SU Group where teenagers can explore the Bible, ask questions about the Christian faith, and have open discussions in a welcoming environment. It has been encouraging to see strong engagement from young people and ongoing support from school staff and the wider community.

Friday Youth Clubs

Our Friday Youth Club at Uphall South Church continues to be a highlight of the week, with great numbers of young people attending regularly. Each Friday is packed with games, activities, conversations, food, challenges, and opportunities for young people to build friendships and have fun together in a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Alongside our regular clubs, we also continue running monthly Themed Youth Clubs and holiday programmes such as Easter BUZZ, which brought together young people for a full week of activities, outreach, trips, and community fun during the Easter holidays.

Trips & Camps

Over the past few months, we’ve enjoyed several exciting trips and camps with young people from across the community. In February, 11 young people joined us for a Christian weekend camp at Lendrick Muir, where they took part in outdoor activities, team games, and group sessions while building friendships and confidence. During the spring holidays, 32 young people joined our trip to Innoflate Livingston for a fun day out together. These trips continue to create valuable opportunities for young people to try new experiences, strengthen friendships, and make lasting memories.
